Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Nurse Practitioners are highly qualified and experienced nurses who have undertaken further education to be able to assess, diagnose, treat (including Prescribing) as appropriate and refer to both primary and secondary care colleagues. They work independently alongside the GP's at the Practice.

Nurses

The practice nurses assist the doctors in the management chronic illness e.g. diabetes, asthma and cardiovascular disease. They are responsible for the running of the practice clinics including blood pressure, cervical smear, diabetes, asthma, travel immunisation etc. They also review patients on contraception and hormone replacement. Please make an advance appointment to see a nurse.

Nurse Manager

The nurse manager works closely with the practice manager to provide the leadership and support to the nursing team in order that the nursing team deliver the appropriate service to the patients safely and efficiently

Practice Nurses

The Practice Nurse provides assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.

 

 

Administration

Practice Manager - Paul Carroll is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Assistant Practice Manager - Stephen Robertson - provides direct support to the Practice Manager with all aspects of running the practice. including responsibility for managing and assisting in the areas of, finances, practice management, patients, and clinical information.

Practice Secretaries  - The secretaries liaise with hospitals on behalf of you and your doctor. They can help book your appointment at hospital through the Choose and Book Service.

Prescription Clerks -  If you have a query about your prescription which cannot be sorted out by the pharmacist, please speak to one of our Prescription Clerks.

HR & Marketing Support- Tracy Robertson-Glenn ensures that The Practice is compliant with all aspects of HR, carries out Marketing and General Administration for the Practice, as well as support to the Practice Manager.

Systems and Data Analyst - Supports the Practice Manager in managing the Practice’s IT systems, ensuring data is accurately entered and reported. 

Clinical Administration Support - Sarah Endersby is responsible for summarising notes, looking up/checking paper and electronic notes. Inputting data e.g. PHQ9s, DM retinal screening results and updating the data base.    

Reception

Reception receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

Attached Staff

The Community Midwives from Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals run antenatal clinics at the practice every Thursday morning. Other attached staff include: the macmillan nurse, community matron, dietitian and diabetes specialist nurse.
